Wannabe Writers #49 (E-Publishing)

Wannabe Writers is my internet writing group. Anyone is welcome to join. It's a place to meet other writers, ask questions, and get feedback. Bascially, my posts are about my current writing progress, my problems, and any questions I need help answering. If you've created a similar post of your own lately, feel free to link in the comments.

Where I am in the writing process: Unpublished!

My current problem(s): Slowest writer ever!  That's me!
So last time I posted I told everyone that I was going to speed-write while working on a different novel--ELIXIR--and so that's what I've been doing.  One week in and I've written about 10pages more.  Not wonderful (not as speedy as I hoped) but better than nothing I guess.  I hope to double that number next week.  My goal: to finish a solid first draft by the end of June!  I want to e-published this current novel.  I know it's not great, but I'm so eager to get something--anything--out there that I'm seriously considering e-publishing it.  Perhaps just as a way to showcase my work and see how people react.

My question(s) this week:  Thoughts on e-pubishing books???

I am all for epublishing! Unless some unforeseen event occurs, I will be epublishing by the end of summer. Let me know if you need any help.

I can totally relate to just wanting something out there!

Have you thought about posting your book on a site like inkpop.com? It would give you a chance to have people read and comment on your work while still retaining all your rights to the work.

There's also:
bookcountry.com
authonomy.com

The sites (which are run by publishers) also feature contests where the top books are read by the publisher.

It's always good to have options! :)

You can't be the slowest writer ever, because I already claimed that title. ;-)

Seriously though, if you're thinking of epublishing, check out the Writer's Cafe, it's a sub-board on the Kindlboard forums. Many successful epubbed writers, including Amanda Hocking, Victorine Lieske, JA Konrath and more post there (some more than others) and there is a wealth of information to be had.

I don't know what happened on blogger...but a couple people listed some good e-publishing websites. If you guys could let me know what those were again that would be great...thanks!

New follower! ^_^ I'll have to do this one next Wednesday, not enough time tonight to do it. Glad to find your blog though!
